BELMONDO AT MONTAUK Baroque Inspired Residential Development
In 1996 and 1997, Mr. Brice conducted extensive travel studies in the French Loire as well as the Southeast region of Sicily including Siracusa, Noto, and Ragusa to explore and analyze the baroque typologies of space and form. We were hired by the late Robert Padden, a fine builder/carpenter in the Hamptons in Long Island for speculative development of a prime hilltop site overlooking the harbor of Montauk Long Island. The one-of-kind house is designed as a transposition of ideas found in 17th Century Sicilian baroque towns and French baroque chateaus.
