124 WEST 72ND ST Central Park West Historic District Manhattan
We have completed a number of projects for this 13-story Upper West Side apartment building to comply with NYC DOB’s Facade Inspection Safety Program, all meeting Landmarks approval. Most importantly, we replaced the original terracotta cornice to eliminate hazardous conditions. This required extensive steel reinforcement, replication of ornamental stonework, and new copper flashings. We also replaced a substantial amount of cast stone at the decorative balconies and water tables. We rebuilt both the northeast and northwest corner brickwork, which had vertical step cracks extending the height of the building. We are presently restoring the ground floor commercial frontage and residential lobby entrance to the building.
