MITCH LEIGH RESIDENCE 49 E 68th St Upper East Side Manhattan
This restoration of a 1920s Georgian style brick townhouse involved stone and brick masonry work as well as detailed copper work on dormers and gutters. To preserve the intricate ornamental relief pattern on the front of the gutter, we had the original formed copper removed and later resoldered on top of the new copperwork, making the cornice watertight, while maintaining a unique and irreplaceable relic of the original architecture. All brickwork was repointed with the appropriate mortar composition and tooling design. All work was reviewed and approved by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission.
